“A musician, a poet, a wise and loving man and very much a playful child” (Susan Lee Miller, 1967) The experimental musician Moondog would have turned 99 in 2015. In 1974 he was invited to play a concert in Germany alongside Kraftwerk and decided to stay. In honor of his work and life, Moondog companion Wolfgang Gnida and music theorist Arne Blum compiled, contributed and published this remarkable collection. The book brings three different types of content together: stories told by companions, musicological articles, as well as rare archive material. Each type comes in a distinct design to structure the book and emphasize the respective characteristics.
